Numerical simulation of refrigerant flow arrangement in condensers(1): developing and verifying of a mathematic model

Based on the εNTU method, develops a mathematic model of condenser and simulates the heat transfer performances and the resistance characteristics of two condensers with different refrigerant flow arrangements. The results show that the location tubewall temperature distribution along the tube length agrees with experimental results recorded in previous literature, that the maximum total pressure error between the numerical simulation and the experimental values is 7%, and that the mathematic model can be used to compare the effect of flow arrangements on the performance of condensers.
